How to Sell Digital Products in 2026: Make Them With AI, Price Them, and Find Buyers (Without Selling AI Slop)
AI can write a 50-page ebook in an afternoon, and that is exactly the problem. Here is how to pick a digital product people actually buy, research it in the Meta Ad Library, make it with AI without selling slop, choose where to sell (fees compared), and run your first ads.
Imagine asking ChatGPT to write a 50-page ebook. Forty minutes later you have one: tidy chapters, a cover, even pictures. You put it up for $9. A week later, three sales and two refund requests saying "this is just generic AI text". Sound possible? It is happening to a lot of new sellers right now.
Digital products still work. Seller Nitesh Raj, interviewed on the Satish K Videos channel, says he has sold digital products worth crores of rupees in India over three years, mostly simple ebooks and printables sold with Meta ads. But AI made creating a product so easy that the product itself is no longer the hard part. Picking the right one, and making it better than the AI default, is.
In this post we go through how to find a digital product people actually buy, how to make it with AI without selling slop, where to sell it and what each platform charges, and how to run your first ads. It draws on two YouTube videos, linked at the end. The fee checks, warnings and opinions are ours.
Why sell digital products?
You make it once and sell it as many times as people buy it. No stock, no shipping, no damaged parcels or return couriers, and delivery is instant by email or download link. That is the appeal, and it is real.
The catch is the same thing turned around: if it is easy for you, it is easy for everyone. So the winners are not the people who make the most products. They are the people who make one product for one specific problem, and make it clearly better.
How to find winning digital products
Don't start by asking AI for "top 10 ebook ideas". Every new seller gets the same ten. Start with evidence of what people already pay for.
1. Check the Meta Ad Library
The Meta Ad Library is free and public. Search a phrase like "ebook", "template" or "workshop" in your country and you will see which digital products advertisers keep paying to promote, the offer, the price and the landing page. Naresh Jangu uses Claude in Chrome to go through around 100 of these ads and put them in a Google Sheet automatically. Our Claude in Chrome guide shows that exact workflow.
One caution: both videos read "this ad has run for 54 days" as proof it is making money. It is a clue, not proof. Use it to build a shortlist, then judge the offer yourself.
2. Check Etsy reviews
Etsy is full of digital downloads: printables, planners, templates, kids' activity sheets. Sort by bestsellers in a category and read the reviews. Reviews tell you two things AI can't: what buyers loved, and what they wish had been included. That second list is your product.
3. Narrow it down
"Personal finance" is a topic. "A first-salary budget planner for new graduates in the US" is a product. The narrower the problem, the easier it is to write an ad that speaks to the buyer and the less competition you face. If you want a starting list, our 35 digital product ideas are sorted by type.

How to create digital products with AI (without selling AI slop)
In the video, the creators ask ChatGPT for an ebook, get 19 pages, then ask for 50. Nitesh says buyers expect detail, so he aims for 100 pages or more. We would put it differently: buyers don't want more pages, they want more of what they couldn't get from a free chatbot.
If a buyer could get your ebook by asking ChatGPT for free, they will ask for a refund.
Here is how we use AI for a product without it reading like AI:
- 1.Write the outline yourself, from the buyer reviews and your own experience. Let AI expand it, not invent it.
- 2.Add things AI doesn't have: your real examples, numbers, mistakes, screenshots and local details.
- 3.Include something to use, not only read: a checklist, a worksheet, a template, a calculator in a spreadsheet.
- 4.Edit every page. Cut the filler intros, the repeated summaries and the vague advice.
- 5.Design it properly: a clean cover and readable pages. AI image tools are fine for illustrations, but check every one.
Our guide to the signs of AI writing lists the phrases that make readers trust a page less. Remove them from your product before anyone else spots them.
Best platform to sell digital products: fees compared
| Platform | What you pay per sale | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Payhip | Free plan 5%, Plus ($29/mo) 2%, Pro ($99/mo) 0%, plus PayPal or Stripe fees | Low fees, your own store page |
| Gumroad | 10% + $0.50 per direct sale, plus card fees; 30% on sales through its Discover marketplace | Fast start, no monthly fee |
| Etsy | $0.20 listing, 6.5% transaction, plus payment processing (US 3% + $0.25) | Built-in buyers searching for printables and templates |
| Your own site + Stripe | Card processing only (Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% + $0.30) | Full control once you have traffic |
Fees change, so check each platform's current page before you choose. The creators in the video, selling in India, use Superprofile because it delivers the file to the buyer's email and WhatsApp automatically. Whatever you pick, automatic delivery matters more than saving one percent.

How to sell ebooks online: the sales page and checkout
- •Show what is inside. Nitesh's team adds a preview of the first three or four pages, which they say lifts trust. We agree: it is the single best fix for "is this just AI text?"
- •One clear price and one button. A crossed-out price can help, but only if the original price is real.
- •Fewer checkout steps. The video turns off extra verification fields because every step loses buyers.
- •Instant delivery by email, with the download link working on a phone.
- •An order bump: a smaller related product offered at checkout, priced well below the main one.
You don't need a developer for this. AI tools can build a decent landing page in an afternoon, and a simple one-page site does the job. Run our five-second website test on it before you spend a cent on ads.
How to sell digital products with Facebook ads
Most sellers in the video sell through Meta ads. Their practical advice: install the Meta pixel and track checkout and purchase events, or the ad system can't learn who buys. Expect to spend some money before the first sale. For a product around ₹150, Nitesh suggests a starting daily budget of two to three times the price.
Our additions: run several genuinely different creatives at once, because Meta's ad system now finds buyers from your creative more than your targeting. Our post on the 2026 digital marketing trends explains why. And judge results after a week of data, not a day.
One claim from the video we can't confirm: that you must run engagement ads first to "warm up" a new ad account or it will get banned. We haven't seen Meta say that. Follow Meta's ad policies and use a real, consistent business page instead.
Digital products refund policy: be honest
The video calls refunds for digital products "foolish" because the buyer already has the file. We understand the worry, but be careful. In the EU, buyers have a 14-day right of withdrawal on downloads unless, before the download starts, they expressly agree to start it and acknowledge they lose that right. Platforms also have their own refund rules. Write a clear policy, collect that consent at checkout if you sell to the EU, and honour genuine complaints. A few refunds cost less than a reputation for selling junk.
Never resell someone else's product as your own. Some sellers buy "resell rights" bundles of dubious origin. If you can't prove you have the rights, don't sell it.
A realistic timeline
Nitesh started in 2018. His first ad didn't sell on day one either. Plan for a few weeks of testing products and creatives before anything works, and keep your first product small so a miss costs little. If you want to test an idea before you even build it, our guide on how to validate a business idea with AI shows how.
The bigger picture
AI made the making part almost free. That moved the value somewhere else: choosing the right problem, adding what only you know, and presenting it honestly. Those are the sellers who will still be selling next year.
So, what problem do people in your field keep asking you about? That is probably your first product. If you want help setting up the store, checkout and automation, tell us what you'd sell.
